The Ting Tings... you will end up singing with them. Fact.

A while back I heard the song 'That's Not My Name' by The Ting Tings... and I thought it sounded quite good, but what a name for a band blah blah blah. Another UK one hit wonder... but then the song kept coming back to me, on and on and on. And then the itunes advert had another catchy song called 'Shut Up And Let Me Go'. Surprise, surprise, it was by The Ting Tings too. So no one hit wonder here for now. I got myself their album 'We Started Nothing' and I got a bigger surprise when I actually liked it a lot. Funny and clever lyrics with very very catchy sounds on the background. Then when I looked for more information about them I found out that they are getting huge in America too, after their first UK number one hit that I knew of already... I think you might like to check them out... because I think you might get trapped by their charm too. Let's hope it lasts though. See a couple of videos below with their songs.

Hace ya un tiempo escuche por primera vez la cancion 'That's Not My Name' de The Ting Tings. Pense que sonaban bastante bien, pero con ese nombre para el grupo y blablablabla. Otro grupito del Reino Unido... Pero por alguna razon la cancion siguio sonando en mi cabeza y de hecho en todas partes. Luego otra cancion que sonaba genial en el anuncio de itunes llamada 'Shut Up And Let Me Go'. Sorpresa, sopresa, otra cancion de The Ting Tings. Asi que no era solo cuestion de una sola cancion, tenian mas buen repertorio. Asi que me hice con su album 'We Started Nothing' y para mi sopresa me encanto. Letras divertidas y inteligentes con una musica pegadiza de fondo que se te queda grabada en la cabeza. Cuando busque mas informacion sobre ellos resulto que en America estan teniendo mucho exito tambien, despues de su ya sabido primer numero uno en el Reino Unido. Creo que seria buena idea que escucharais alguno de sus temas... porque probablemente os guste y caigais en la misma trampa que cai yo. Esperemos que sus buenas canciones sigan llegando y no sea solo un par de exitos. Ahi van un par de videos con sus temas.

Freemasons Forever

Did you know that Freemasons released two albums last year? And tht both of them are absolutely awesome? They are called 'Shakedown' and 'Unmixed'. 'Shakedown' is made of two CDs with lots of their latest remixes with Beyonce, Faith Evans, Luther Vandross to say just a few, set up as a session. 'Unmixed' is, of course, their original songs without being a session with vocalists like former 'Brand New Heavies' Siedah Garret. For me personally they are the best vocal house/dance albums ever. Completely timeless tunes to sing along and dance to endlessly. I cannot stop listening to them, especially 'Umixed'. Check them out right away, they are worth every single penny.


Sabias que los famosos remezcladores Freemasons' sacaron a la venta dos discos en el 2007? Y que los dos son absolutamente esenciales? Los albumes se llaman 'Shakedown' y 'Unmixed'. 'Shakedown' se compone de un doble CD con sus mejores y mas recientes remixes con Beyonce, Faith Evans, Luther Vandross solo por mencionar unos cuantos, montados en sesion. 'Unmixed', obviamente, es su coleccion de temas originales sin estar montado en sesion, con vocalistas como la ex 'Brand New Heavies' Siedah Garret. En mi opnion son los mejores discos de house/dance vocal que he escuchado nunca. Canciones que son clasicos instantaneos para cantar su son y ballar sin parar. No puedo dejar de escucharlos. Haceros con ellos si podeis, valen cada uno de los centimos que cuestan.

Alanis tastes entanglement. Welcome back!

Alanis Morissette is back... and back in form too! Yay! Her first single 'Underneath' sounds very good. Even if I only listened to here album 'Flavors Of Entanglement' just once, it was enough to see that some of the wonders that we found in 'Jagged Little Pill' and 'Under Rug Swept' shine in this new album again. Slightly more bitter and insular than in her two previous albums, we find the Alanis that had more success, with her long hair to boot. By the way, I'm not sure if it's me, but time doesn't seem to pass for this woman. She looks gorgeous. Check out the new video for her latest single and enjoy.

Alanis Morissette ha vuelto y en plena forma. Viva! Su primer sencillo 'Underneath' suena genial y aunque solo he escuchado su nuevo disco 'Flavors Of Entanglement' una vez, algunas de las maravillas que escuchamos en 'Jagged Little Pill' y 'Under Rug Swept' brillan con fuerza en este ultimo trabajo. Algo mas punzante y insular que en sus dos ultimos trabajos, nos encontramos con la Alanis que tuvo mas exito y con su fantastico pelo largo de tambien vuelta. Por cierto, no se si soy yo, pero para esta mujer parece no pasar el tiempo. Se ve fantastica. Hechadle un vistazo a su nuevo video y disfrutadlo.

'Viva La Vida' Far Better Than 'Violet Hill'

Coldplay have released their latest album 'Viva La Vida'. Their first single, 'Violet Hill' did sound pretty good... but not that great, so I didn't get all that excited. However, to my amazement, they performed the mentioned song and the song that gives title to their album, 'Viva La Vida'. Oh boy, it gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it. It made me get up and go to get the album right away. It's absolutely gorgeous... Makes me wonder why they bothered realeasing 'Violet Hill' altogether, as first single at least, instead of this gem... Give it a listen below and compare both! Coldplay han sacado al mercado su nuevo trabajo de estudio 'Viva La Vida'. Su primer sencillo, 'Violet Hill' sono bastante bien cuando salio... pero no como para tirar petardos. sin embargo, para mi sorpresa, actuaron en un programa de entrevistas muy famoso en el Reino Unido donde tocaron 'Violet Hill' y la cancion que da titulo a su nuevo disco 'Viva La Vida'. Todavia se me pone la piel de gallina cada vez que la escucho. Me hizo levantarme y ir en busca del nuevo disco de inmediato. Es una autentica piedra preciosa. Esto hace que me pregunte porque se molestaron en sacar como sencillo 'Violet Hill', al menos como primer sencillo, en lugar de esta maravilla. Escuchadlas ahora aqui debajo y comparadlas! Primero 'Violet Hill' seguido de 'Viva La Vida' despues. Que os parece? Dejad comentarios!

Loving Duffy's Warwick Avenue

I can't stop listening to the new single from Welsh singer Duffy. I loved 'Mercy', but this track's melody is just wonderful and the lyrics are lovely. Check it out, it iss delicious, even if a bit sad. I have been playing her album 'Rockferry' in the last few days as I got hooked to this song and it's worth a listen or twenty too. Check out the video and enjoy a bit of drama.

No puc parar d'escoltar la nova canço de la cantant galesa Duffy. Em va agradar molt 'Mercy', pero la melodia d'aquesta es meravellosa i la lletra una delicia. Escolteu-la, val la pena, tot i que es un pel trista. He estat escoltant el seu disc 'Rockferry' ja que estic enganxat a aquesta canço i tambe val la pena escoltar-lo un parell de vegades o potser vint. Mireu-vos el video i disfruteu una mica del drama.

She was up and coming, but Miley Cyrus is now here

I'm not sure if I should be a little bit ashamed, but the most exciting song on the radio at the moment is a single from Miley Cyrus called 'See You Again'. You might ask yourself who she is, but I'm sure at some point you heard about Disney's sensation Hannah Montana... well, I had never seen or heard much about her myself, but ask anyone under the age of 16 and for sure they will know all about her. Just a clue of how popular this girl is might be that it's reckoned she will be a Billionaire (with B) by the end of the year. And she is 15... Daughter of country singer/actor Billy Ray Cyrus, to my surprise this girl has release a song so catchy I cannot get it off my head. Britney you better crack it on your next record, otherwise your possible successor will definitely throw you off your pop princess throne... Have a listen, not video yet, but at least you can see her on one of her TV shows.

No estoy seguro si debo tener un poco de verguenza al decir que estoy totalmente enganchado a una cancion que suena mucho en la radio estos dias de Miley Cyrus llamada 'See You Again'. Quizas os pregunteis quien es esa chica, pero estoy seguro que en algun momento en los ultimos doce meses habeis oido hablar de la sensacion Disney del momento, Hannah Monatna. Le podeis preguntar seguramante a cualquier adolescente por debajo de los dieciseis años de edad y seguro que lo sabran todo sobre ella. Para que os hagais una idea de lo popular que es esta chica, se calcula que sera Billonaria (con B) a finales de 2008. Y solo tiene 15 años de edad... Hija del cantante de country y actor Billy Ray Cyrus, esta chica me ha sorprendido sacando una cancion tan pegadiza que no me la puedo sacar de la cabeza. Britney ya puedes apretar el acelerador y que tu proximo disco sea la bomba, porque de lo contrario tu posible sucesora te desbancara definitivamente de tu trono de princesa del pop. Escuchad la cancion, que todavia no tiene video, pero con algunas imagenes de uno de sus programas de television para que os hagais una idea de como es ella.

Yes, the 'Sex and the City' movie was worth it... and so it's the sountrack.

After a lont time talking about if this movie was going to be made due to apparent feuds between the actresses or maybe if it was actually bothering to play with a succesful TV show turning into a big screen movie, Sex and the City hits our screens today. I wasn't one of the followers of this show when it was on, but somehow I got hooked on the very last ten episodes of season 6. And I can say, according to my friends too, that the movie was worth all the fuss and the time waiting for it to be made. It's funny, classy and with all the bits that made the TV show a complete success... and guess what? So was the soundtrack. I kept recognising different singers here and there from songs that matched what was on screen perfectly. You will find songs by Fergie, Jennifer Hudson (part of the cast), rockers Morningwood, lovely Jem, a remix of a Nina Simone song or Run DMC. Check it out if you get the chance.

Despues de mucho tiempo hablando sobre si esta pelicula llegaria a ser hecha, debido a aparentes enemistades entre actrices o quizas si realmente valia la pena volver a tocar una serie de television de tanto exito adaptandola y llevandola a la gran pantalla, Sexo en Nueva York a llegado a pantallas inglesas hoy. Yo para nada fui uno de los fans mas adeptos, pero por algun motivo me engancho los ultimos diez capitulos de la ultima temporada. Y puedo decir despues de haberla visto hace un par de horas, tambien segun mis amigos locos fans de la serie, que la espera valio la pena. Es divertida, con clase y con lo que hizo la serie de television tal exito... Y para mi sorpresa, tambien lo es la banda sonora. He ido reconociendo diferentes artista tal y como la pelicula iba pasando. Encontrareis entre los artistas a Fergie, Jennifer Hudson (una de las actrices), nuevos rockeros como Morningwood, la maravillosa Jem e incluso remix de una cancion de Nina Simone o Run DMC. Os la recomiendo como banda sonora.

A 'Love Song' that might get her known in Europe

Sara Bareilles might be a name that you never heard before... but might not be for long. I heard on the radio this song a few weeks back. And the more I listen to it the more I like it. Try to see if you can listen to it. It's definitely a song that grows on you and I have the feeling we will hear a lot more about her in the future. In the US she already release another song that sounds pretty good too called 'Bottle It Up'. See what you think.

Sara Bareilles es un nombre que quizas no signifique nada para ti o nunca lo hayas oido antes... pero no por mucho tiempo. Escuche esta cancion en la radio hace algunas semanas. Y la verdad es que cuanto mas la escucho mas me gusta. Es definitivamente un de esas canciones que mejora cuanto mas la escuchas y me parece que vamos a escuchar mucho mas sobre esta chica. En USA ha sacado ya otra cancion llamada 'Bottle It Up' que suena pero que muy bien tambien. Juzgad por vosotros mismos.

Take A Bow, Rihanna is #1 in the UK Charts

As I recommended during this week, the song 'Take A Bow' by Rihanna hits the number one spot in the UK Official Charts today. I learned from her official website that she will re-release her critically acclaimed 'Good Girl Gone Bad' album on 17/6/2008 with this and another couple of songs and a DVD with a behind the scenes. I guess they have to milk the cow to the maximum... Still, great song and deserved #1. Congrats Rihanna!

Como recomende esta semana pasada, la cancion 'Take A Bow' de Rihanna se ha apoderado del numero 1 en la lista oficial de exitos del Reino Unido. Veremos si ocurre lo mismo en el resto de Europa. Junto a esto, van a lanzar una nueva edicion de su disco 'Good Girl Gone Bad' que obtuvo fantasticas criticas el 17/6/2008 segun su pagina oficial, con un par de canciones nuevas y un DVD on un 'como se hizo'. Supongo que tienen que sacar de esto todo lo que puedan por no tener otro nuevo disco listo a tiempo... Merecido numero 1, asi que enhorabuena Rihanna!

Monica Naranjo released Tarantula

Spanish singer Monica Naranjo released her new albun Tarantula, her latest studio work after her wonderful greatest hits. After listening to the CD a couple of times we can see that she went for topics other than love, talking about media or politics and maybe more about herself. 'Europa' is her new single, but I definitely would choose 'Amor y Lujo' as my favourite song by far. The rest of the CD is slightly different to what we are used to, it's quite good, but on the whole not sure if it would leave us satisfied as she did in other occasions. I add a video where you can see her singing the song 'Amor y Luojo' live with the contestants of this year's spanish Pop Idol, 'Operacion Triunfo'. I hope you like it!

Monica Naranjo saco a la venta no hace mucho su nuevo disco Tarantula, su ultimo trabajo de estudio despues de su fantastico grandes exitos. Despues de escucharlo un par de veces, podemos ver como esta vez no habla unicamente de desamores y se lanza a otros temas como politica o famoseo. Su primer single es 'Europa', pero yo me quedo claramente con 'Amor y Lujo'. El resto del CD tiene sus altos y bajos, bastante bueno en general, pero quizas no nos deja totalmente satisfechos como en anteriores trabajos. Ahi va un video de su actuacion en directo en el programa 'Operacion Triunfo' con los concursantes del 2008. Espero que os guste!
